Safe Fall Driving – What to check for before your fall road trip

Fall is here and for many of us, that means it’s time for a fall road trip.

The leaves are turning across the country and they make wonderful scenery on your fall road trip while you drive to your destination, but these beautiful leaves are potentially hazardous to drivers on the road.

While leaves are falling, they can collect on top of pot holes, road markings and can hide other road hazards. To help keep you and yours safe on these trips, make sure you check your tire pressures, tread length and make sure the tires have been rotated and balanced within the past 6,000 miles. This along with a brake check and wiper blade check can help ensure your safety and give you peace of mind while heading to your destination. Windshield wipers should be checked or changed every season, or every 3-4 months for those of us without ‘seasons’ (talking to you, fellow Texans…). This way when the crazy Texas weather kicks in, you are prepared.

Better yet, bring your vehicle in to us at Autoscope for a comprehensive Safety & Maintenance check. One of our certified auto technicians will know exactly what to look for on your specific vehicle and will give your vehicle a thorough inspection for any safety or maintenance items that might need to be addressed before heading out on your fall road trip. Enjoy the peace of mind knowing that your vehicle is safe and roadworthy. Give us a call at one of our convenient DFW European auto repair locations, or set up an appointment online today!
